Lodging and food will be provided and the workshop is free to attend.

The workshop serves to introduce people to basic ranch skills, ideas and vocabulary, and instruct on ways that ranchers are working with agencies and other partners to do innovative work with wildlife and soil. It will be interactive and outdoors.

Quivira is looking for people who:

  1.  Are interested in a career in farming or ranching and may be interested in applying for a Quivira 8-month ranching apprenticeship in 2020 or sometime in the future.
  2.  Wants to or plans to work with farmers and ranchers in their job. It will help them begin to understand the day to day decisions ranchers make, how a ranch operates, farming and ranching vocabulary and the on-the-ground realities of ranching.
  3.  Are interested in understanding the principles of regenerative agriculture and how some farmers and ranchers are innovating to build carbon in their soil, coexist with predators and improve habitat for wildlife and grazing lands for livestock.
