Your responses will inform a proposal to revise the internal rule for cottage food enforcement and an educational workshop this winter, with opportunities for follow up small group technical assistance to support cottage food operators.

Specifically, we want to:

  1.  Help expand the list of allowable cottage foods for Montana.
  2.  Provide internal guidance to registered sanitarians to encourage consistent enforcement of cottage food law between counties.
  3.  Ensure that our workshops provide relevant education on new food-safe packaging that decreases reliance on single-use plastics.
