Hello-

On this Veterans Day, I want to not only thank you for your commitment and service to our country and its democracy, AND your commitment to serving your communities through all you do! I also want to thank all the amazing veterans that I work with on this project for teaching me be a better civilian with more empathy and understanding.

Lawrence Rhone and I have been working diligently to set up a Montana Farmers Veteran Coalition Chapter. Keep an eye out in the next few months for an invitation to participate in this exciting project! We will also be having an Armed to Farm 2.0 in 2021 and an Armed to Farm in Washington state next year and another one in Idaho in 2022.

I hope you enjoy this amazing profile of Eric Grandon from Sugar Bottom Farm. He attended one of the first Armed to Farms and is now a honey and bee farmer. I was struck by the joy and strength that he got from watching and caring for bees and see the parallels with the veteran farmers I have worked with on this project- whether you care for plants or animals (bees included 🙂) the sense strength and power that comes from tending our farms is empowering and sharing it with other veterans is even more empowering. Thanks for all you do in service to your communities and within this network.
