NCAT Helps MT Youth Celebrate & Educate About Local Food

NCAT's 2014 Local Harvest events were a success! With support from NCAT's Growing Leaders Youth Initiatives, young leaders from Flathead High School in Kalispell and Hellgate High School in Missoula hosted educational celebrations in their communities that featured local food and highlighted National Farm to School month. Watch for event summaries written by members of the Youth Planning Committee coming in the near future. In the meantime, please take a moment to read our brief descriptions of the events:

Grand opening of Growing a Better World Garden at Flathead High School Rooftop Salsa Party at
                        Hellgate High School

With coverage in the Daily Interlake and The Missoulian, these events had an impact on their community beyond the students, parents, grandparents, school officials, and community members in attendance. These young leaders helped raise awareness about the benefits of local food and let folks know that the youth food revolution continues in Montana.

To all the youth out there, keep growing!
