Registration is now open for a statewide summit on childhood hunger hosted
by the Montana Partnership to End Childhood Hunger.
“Build a Stronger Montana: End Childhood Hunger Statewide Summit” is set
for Sept. 23-24 at Montana State University and will highlight the
experiences of hungry children in Montana, showcase best practices for
helping hungry children and demonstrate pathways to ending child hunger in
the community. It will also promote community groups, provide networking
opportunities and show the connection between hunger and children’s health
and their futures.
One in five Montana children struggle with hunger, and research shows that
the absence of childhood hunger is linked to children’s success in the
classroom, overall health and well-being, family stability, and
self-sufficiency in the future, according to event organizers.
Early-bird registration is available until Aug. 14; cost is $60 for an
individual or $30 for students and AmeriCorps service members. For groups
of three or more, a community rate is available for $55 per person. After
Aug. 14, registration costs increase by $10.
On the evening of September 23rd, there will be a screening of the
documentary "A Place at the Table" and post-film panel discussion with
