How are you celebrating Farm to School Month<http://www.farmtoschoolmonth.org>?
October is *National Farm to School Month*, a time to celebrate the
connections that are happening all over the country between schools and
local food. In November 2010, Congress approved House Resolution 1655
officially designating October as National Farm to School Month. Students
nationwide celebrate by embarking on farm field trips, eating farm fresh
foods in their school cafeterias, learning in their school gardens, and
much more.

Gallatin Valley Farm to School <http://www.gvfarmtoschool.org> (GVF2S), a
Bozeman-based nonprofit organization, is helping schools, teachers and
students participate in Farm to School Month this October by offering
resources and activities.

Teachers will be able to quickly find activity ideas, locate relevant books
and videos to use in their classes, and identify farmers interested in farm
field trips or classroom visits in the *Farm to School MonthTeacher
*, developed by GVF2S.

Included in the *Farm to School Month Teacher
a listing of
*books, movies, and curriculum guides* available in the Farm to School
collection at the Bozeman School District’s Media Resource Center. These
materials were made available to teachers and community members free of
charge by GVF2S and Bozeman School District. To access the Farm to School
library collection, visit http://library.bsd7.org/ or contact the District
Media Center at (406) 522-6046.

This year National Farm to School Network is asking schools across the
country to participate in “Farm to School Counts” by pledging to serve
local food and participate in Farm to School activities during October.
Visit www.farmtoschoolmonth.org to sign up and find additional resources
and materials to help you spread the word in our community.

Gallatin Valley Farm to School connects schools and farmers in the Gallatin
