[montanafood_ag] Three MT projects receive USDA Farmers Market Promotion Program grants

It's been a long time since any Montana project was funded, so this year's news is especially good. Congratulations to the winners of these grant awards.
MONTANA $96,800 to Intertribal Agriculture Council, Billings, MT, to
establish a mobile farmers market that will increase the
availability of healthy traditional foods in food deserts, and allow
American Indian food producers to market their products to
customers and native populations in urban areas.
$52,287 to Yellowstone City County Health Department dba
RiverStone Health, Billings, MT, to increase the number of
farmers/vendors and consumers participating in the Healthy by
Design Gardeners' Market by developing and implementing a
targeted promotional program for food desert residents.
$66,050 to Western Montana Growers Cooperative, Arlee, MT,
to expand the local producer cooperative's Community Supported
Agriculture (CSA) coordinated delivery program and improve
storage and packaging efficiencies, and to initiate a targeted
marketing campaign and customer relationship management
program to facilitate participation by food desert residents.

CLEVELAND, Sept. 21, 2012 - Agriculture Deputy Secretary Kathleen Merrigan today announced over $9 million in grants to organizations across 39 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico to initiatives that bolster the connection between agricultural producers and their consumers while improving access to healthy food and strengthening local economies.
