It is possible to have more locally grown, healthy food available for clients in health-care institutions.

On Friday, October 12, the National Center for Appropriate Technology (NCAT) in Butte will host “Healthy Farms, Healthy People,” a day-long meeting that will feature success stories from agriculture and health-care professionals who have done just that, both in Montana and other states. The workshop is funded by a grant from the National Network of Public Health Institutes.

The meeting will include interactive panels and discussions of steps producers and health-care providers can take. On Saturday, October 13, NCAT will host an optional day-long tour that will include sustainable-ag operations in southwest Montana.

Registration is $15, which includes breakfast and lunch. There is a limited number of seats available, both for the meeting and the tour, so we would encourage you to consider registering early. The attached document contains more information and a registration link.

Camille Green is the NCAT staff member who is the contact person for the meeting. Her contact information is included in the attachment. Also feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
