3. New CDC resource released "School Health Guidelines to Promote Healthy Eating and Physical Activity" that includes and promotes farm to school (see attached)

Ways to Promote Farm to School

* September 24 is Nickelodeon's Worldwide Day of Play: the idea being that kids everywhere turn off their TVs and computers and do something active outside. This is a great opportunity to promote Farm to School-friendly activities, like working in a garden, visiting a you-pick farm (pumpkin patches and corn mazes are popular right now) or walking to a local farmers' market. We can all use social media to make Farm to School part of the Day of Play conversation. Use your Twitter or Facebook account to suggest activities or link to a list of agritourism sights, farmers' markets, community gardens or fall planting guides that relate to your community.

Student Video Contest

* USDA Launches Student Video Contest to Highlight the Importance of Ending Childhood Hunger: More information at Ending Childhood Hunger Video Contest<http://links.govdelivery.com/track?type=click&enid=bWFpbGluZ2lkPTE0NjEyMjkmbWVzc2FnZWlkPVBSRC1CVUwtMTQ2MTIyOSZkYXRhYmFzZWlkPTEwMDEmc2VyaWFsPTEyNzY2NzU1MzYmZW1haWxpZD1ham9zaGlAb3h5LmVkdSZ1c2VyaWQ9YWpvc2hpQG94eS5lZHUmZmw9JmV4dHJhPU11bHRpdmFyaWF0ZUlkPSYmJg==&&&101&&&http://endhunger.challenge.gov/>.
